    This lesson is about recognizing the MyPlate and identifying all 5 food groups by color.
  • Move Like A Stepper:
    Learn the fundamentals of stepping, practice formation, and find a spacious area to step.

Learning Objectives

  • Students will correctly identify each food group by color.
  • Students will be able to recognize the fundamentals of step

Structure

Introduction:

  • Eat Like a Stepper
  • Move Like a Stepper
  • Go over routine (Read, Workbook, Stretch, Step)

Pre Assessment:

  • Go over the rules of the assessment
  • Facilitate assessment in silence
  • View the instructional video for support

MyPlate:

  • Read REMO and Me
  • Identify the name and colors of each food group
  • Share examples of foods in each food group
  • Add names to the workbook but no activity

Stepping:

  • Identify a spot on the carpet or stand behind a chair
  • Stretch
  • Learn the Fundamentals of Step
  • Formation

Notes

Assessment: PRE

Conduct the pre-assessment after introductions using Heads Up 7 UP to visually estimate the number of students who answer the questions correctly. Track the results in the assessment document.
